FENICOLAM

Indication:-

• Prevention and treatment of:

  • Gastrointestinal infections

  • Respiratory tract infections

• Effective against florfenicol-sensitive microorganisms including:

  • Actinobacillus spp.

  • Pasteurella spp.

  • Salmonella spp.

  • Streptococcus spp.

• Used in swine and poultry

• Mechanism of action:

  • Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosomal level

  • Acts primarily as a bacteriostatic agent

  • Demonstrates bactericidal activity in vitro against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida

    • When florfenicol concentration > MIC for more than 12 hours

Dose:-

1 ml of
FENICOLAM/Liter for 3 consecutive days.
Or
0.2 ml FENICOLAM per kg body weight
